Oumaima received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to graduate school, Oumaima worked as a research fellow in a microbiology and immunology focused lab at the National Institute on Aging before joining the Peace Corps in Tanzania. While in Tanzania, she worked with local communities to implement HIV education and prevention projects targeted to high-school-aged youth. She first joined the PRISM team as a Graduate Research Assistant for Project PEACH while completing her Master of Public Health in Global Epidemiology at Rollins School of Public Health, before transitioning to a staff Data Analyst position.
