Home-MaDE Project
The Home-MaDE (Home-Microtainer and DBS Evaluation) study aims to evaluate self-collected blood specimens for HIV viral load testing and see if the results are accurate and if this type of testing would be acceptable. Emory has been contracted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct this study in Atlanta, GA and recruit 50 individuals to complete microtainer and dried blood spot card self-collections as well as two blood draws to compare results to the self-collected specimens. This study will provide useful information about two specimen collection methods and the validity of the HIV viral load testing results, which may lead to expanded home testing options for HIV.
